Dai/Tai people nomenclature
By aaiwanawk • 2026-06-05 01:37:13
How do tai people get their name.....I have seen many ahom with tai names but I wonder if they are correct.....most common name which i doubt is "Aai Seng" this name is literally used for girls...but as I know aai is a prefix for first son and fourth daughter (ignoring the tones for now) but the girls who use this name are eldest daughter or second daughter.....so I want to know i can we can get our tai names......it's very important to revive our tai identity...

Do tai-ahoms have their own traditional gamusa(pha-mai) like the tai-khamyang, tai khamti ?
By mejikanome • 2026-05-22 10:22:14
As muga silk is not a part of tai/dai culture and was influenced later in assam, but you will still see ppl using a muga silk gamusa with stripes of blue, green and red in it
